Mercy Myra Grundberg, otherwise known in the Kenyan music scene as Mercy Myra, is one of the many Kenyan female vocalists conveying unavoidable tag lines that resonate with her audience worldwide in the R&B musical genre.
Early Life and Musical Genesis
In 1996, she joined the Calabash band and exited it the next year to join the music group Destinee, and later joined Black ice in 1997. She later decided to pursue a solo career and released “Sitaki” in 1998, produced by Samawati Studios.
She has participated in various concerts abroad, including the 2004 Zanzibar International Film Festival, and Festival Mundial in Tilburg, the Netherlands in 2002 and 2003.
She was a member of the Divas of The Nile group, that featured four Kenyan Female musicians including Susanna Owiyo, Achieng Abura, and Princess Jully. The group performed at the festival Mundial in Tilburg, the Netherlands in 2002 and 2003.
She later moved in to the United States in 2005 and later faded out of prominence.
In 2009, she won the Best Female Artist category at the Msanii Awards, honouring US based Kenyan musicians.
Mercy came back to prominence in 2016 after signing a new deal with Nu Record Label, a record label based in Atlanta where she aims at collaborating with Grammy Award winning producer, Herman Little.

Personal Life
Mercy is married to Malimo Chahonyo Andega, an aspiring Kenyan musician under the stage name Attitude. Their marriage tore apart in December 2015.
