Jane Fara Fauzzier Afia Boafowaa Yahaya Awindor, well known in the Ghanaian music scene as Efya, is an amazing singer, songwriter as well as an actress. She delivers her masterpiece in the genres of Neo Soul, Afro soul and Jazz.

Jane, or preferably Efya, was born on April 10, 1987 to Nana Adwoa Awindor, also a film maker and a television host.

Efya attended Yaa Asantewaa Secondary School in Kumasi, a city on the Ashanti Region of Ghana. She relocated to Accra when her mum enrolled at the National Film and Television Institute. She furthered her educational journey at the University of Ghana, where she earned a degree in Theatre and Film Making.

In 2008, she was graced to be part of the show Stars of the Future organized by Charter House where she lost to Irene Logan. She later released a single with Irene Logan since she has a deal with Charter House.

After her contract with Charter House had terminated, she moved on to starting her career professionally.

She is the official ambassador for the Awal Children of the Future Foundation (ACOTF) which was founded by Posigee, her producer. Afterwards several artists joined the move. Artists like the infamous Sarkodie, Yaw Siki and Ruff N Smooth joined the move which was aimed at lending a helping hand to street kids, orphans and all homeless children whose parents could not make ends meet.

Having been queried in different interviews, she disclosed that her musical influences are Kojo Antwi, Aretha Franklin and The Temptation.
