Born Roy Smith Mwatia, professionally known in the Kenyan music circle as Rufftone, is a soul lifting musical personality ferrying his music across the globe with his intent of drawing his audience closer to his object of worship, the Maker of the universe.

Rufftone is an amazing singer, songwriter as well as a rapper who is currently a Kenyan politician.

Early Life and Musical Genesis

Born on 1, January 1988, in Kenya, to Mr. and Mrs. Mwatia, Rufftone belongs to the Mwikuku tribe and hails from Luhya ethnicity. Rufftone is the brother of Daddy Owen, another mesmerizing male musical personality delivering air blazing music tunes in the gospel music genre.

This celebrated music star attended Buruburu Institute of Fine arts in Nairobi where he pursued a a Diploma in Graphic Design but never completed his course.

Music Career

Since his official entry into music which was later channeled to gospel music, he has made a number of hit releases which continually increase his fan count.Songs like “Mwikulu” and “Tsinyanga Tsiwere” have propelled him to the top in many hit charts.

Rufftone is the ambassador for Public Diplomacy of the Republic of Korea. He is also the founder of Lampstand Music Record, a graphic designer and a politician.

Personal Life

He is married to Krystal, who is also a musician with both parenting their children.
