Mejja: The Kenyan Genge Artist

Major Nameye Khadija, popularly known in the Kenyan music artistry as Mejja, is a Kenyan artist delivering catchy melodies alongside sensational music to his audience in and outside Africa though the musical genre, Genge and signed to Calif Records.

Early Life and Education

Mejja, as widely recognized was born on 23 May, 1986, in Nyeri, Kenya. Like any other musical artists, his passion for music was unraveled while in primary school. Mejja started singing in primary school with his brother Wambugu who together formed a musical group named, Ghetto Clan.

Musical Career

Mejja’s breakthrough arrived in 2008 captured by the release of his song titled “Jana Kuliendaje“. He came into stardom with the release of his single “Landlord“, which received positive feedback and attracted many critics and fans alike.

In 2014, Nameye Khadija formed a group by name The Kansoul, which consisted of Kid Kora and Madtraxx. They released their first song dubbed “Dabo Tab“, later in the same year.
