Fena- Kenya’s Ruling Musical Empress

Tufena Wanjiku Gitu popularly noted in the Kenya’s musical space as Fena Gitu, is a Kenyan rapper, singer, songwriter and producer born on April 25 1991 in Nairobi. She transcends her song to the world in the genres of Soul, Neo Soul and Afropop.

Career

The Hitmaker of Siri was raised by a single parent and majored in Computer Science at the Catholic School Precious Blood. She later travelled to the United States International University and took International Relations while minoring in Psychology. She participated in the Fête de la Musique, battle at Alliance Français and garnered image after she emerged winner.

She was a backup vocalist for Dela in 2009 and later began her solo career. Afterwards, she joined the Muthoni Drummer Queens Team in 2010.

Accomplishments and Impact

As one who is determined and self motivated with an unquenchable desire to reach her apex she has achieved many things in life including rewards for her good work in the musical artistry despite various accusations on her taste in similar gender; lesbianism to be specific.

She was privileged to perform in certain events including Coke Studio Africa Season 2, where she was chanced to meet record label artists like Sauti Sol, Nameless, Wyre and many others.
