Bill Selanga, popularly known by his stage name Blinky Bill, is a Kenyan musician, producer and DJ from Nairobi in Kenya, also the founder of the Kenyan band, Just A Band, a Kenyan art and music collective.
Early Life and Musical Beginning
His stage name was derived from an Australian cartoon of the same name, after regarding his name as too boring in magazines and newspapers. Blinky Bill attended Kenyattta University.
Musical Career
While in the university, Blinky Bill met Daniel Muli and Jim Chuchu and formed the alternative arts and music collective, Just A Band. The band released their debut album “Scratch To Reveal” in 2008. In 2010 the music video for their hit single Ha-He, which was described as Kenya’s viral video.
